Photo taken in local forest. I had trouble pinpointing the fast bugger, especially with a heavy macro lens. These butterflies were flying only on main roads. Each time it would sit, I would wait until it unfolds its wings…and then a biker goes by, scaring the insect off. Only photo of this one (European peacock butterfly, Aglais io, is it?) that I managed to catch is this one. Poor photo, too – barely any focus, and it was very dark. After massive photo editing, I can see some structure of its wings.
