2020 UK blockade more effective than 1806

Fun fact: the French seem to claim that the current sudden halt of moving people (passengers) and goods to the United Kingdom is much more effective that the one from 1806:

This comment was noticed in the UK itself, where the Guardian mentioned it[source]. I thought it was funny on some cheap level (neighbours bickering), although, obviously, the actual situation is serious.
